This sculpture was placed on Monday 21 April 2000.

The starting point of my design was to enlarge both the amenity of the square and at the same time creating a place to stay with a sculpture as a point of concentration.

From the Lieshoutseweg the square is now invisible. I want to restore the viewpoint by removing all the shrubs and bushes at the head of the square. Instead I want low overgrowth. Furthermore I want to create a corridor to the Lieshoutseweg.

From the platform a strip will be created filled with granite chippings to make a connection with the footpath of the Lieshoutseweg. The small difference of level is solved by an oval step so that the form of the platform will be many-sided. Together with this small step I proposed to place two benches.

To make the platform a point of concentration of the square I designed a sculpture that works both as an eye catcher and a point of concentration which leaves room for al kind of festivities and concerts that can take place in the square.

The base of the sculpture is made of granite chippings in cement, coloured with red pigment. Measurements: 500x350 cm. This form was used in several sculptures of mine. It stands for development and germination.

In this sculpture it forms around an octagonal conical pole. Height 625 cm intersection 40 cm at the bottom, 25 cm at the top I chose the octagonal pole as a reference to the octatone scale from which music is composed; A spiral formed steel roof folded at the eight angular points of the pole. Measurements: 500x380x0,8 cm. Colour: a tone of lighter blue / sea green

The sculpture harmonizes with the form of the platform which thus will be a part of the sculpture (or the other way round).
